Sporting opportunities in Desmond College are offered to our students to promote healthy lifestyles and to further their physical development, as well as to awaken an interest and love in a new sporting experience.
Our students are offered the chance to participate in field games such as camogie, football, hurling, soccer, rugby, basketball and athletics.
The Desmond College Sporting Department believe in meeting the needs of any group in any sport; in this respect we aim to provide our best efforts and commitment to each student so that they can reach their full potential, as both a team and individually.

Congratulations to JP Gahan who qualified 3rd on the grid in the Dunlop Masters Superbike Championships after returning from a good winter testing in Spain.
JP was unfortunate to pick up a minor collar bone injury which he felt was ‘a bad start to the year’ but is determined to bounce back.
He is currently the fastest in his group and ‘intends to maintain this position’ through training and pushing himself to achieve his full potential.
A big congratulations and well done to Aoife Lee and Sarah Cashin, both 3rd Year students in Desmond College who have been selected for The Limerick Sports Partnership Transition Year VIP Programme 2019/2020.

The girls will get certified in a range of coaching courses and work with Primary School children throughout the Year.
