Well done to Evan Condon who as part of his Silver Gaisce Awards successfully achieved Fairtrade Status for Desmond College.

We are now a certified Fairtrade School.

Evan and Miss O’Connor invited Dolores O’Meara, the Chairperson of Limerick Fairtrade to talk to the Student Council and students from Rang Grandin about the Fairtrade Initiative.

Well done also to Alan Wallace who has been very involved with Fairtrade in Desmond College during his 5 years in the school.

Dolores spoke about her travels to various Fairtrade cooperatives around the world and gave us wonderful ideas going forward.

Also congratulations to Edel McMahon who won a fairtrade Hamper kindly donated by Dolores O’Meara, Chairperson of Limerick Fairtrade.
