On 16th September the Leaving Certificate class of Desmond College and Gaelcholaiste Ui Chonba had the opportunity to visit the Higher Options Careers Conference in the RDS in Dublin.
The event is sponsored by The Irish Times and lays claim to the biggest careers conference of its kind on Ireland.
It hosts most the Universities and Institutes of Technologies in Ireland and allows students from all over Ireland to gain the information to make decisions about their study and career options.
Desmond College students were offered the unique opportunity to meet directly with representatives from universities, colleges and education institutions from Ireland, the UK, Europe and beyond.
Students were made aware of the many different options available to them and also the alternatives to the most popular routes in education.
Students were inspired and motivated by the information that they received as they returned to Newcastle West with bag loads of information and enthusiasm for their future careers.
