On a blustery Friday 4th February 2011, our panel represented themselves very well in the County VEC Semi-Final against Colaiste Na Trocaire, with fine displays by wing forward Jamie Quaid and goal scorer James O’Sullivan and solid, honest performances from the two corner backs John McEnery and Jason Flynn.

While the match results did not go our way, there is plenty of talent and potential for future challenges.
All Ireland Limerick Ladies Football Champions Visit
There was rapturous applause and jubilant celebration here at Desmond College to welcome some of the All-Ireland Limerick Ladies Football Champions to the school.
It was especially pleasing for students and staff to see our very own Maedhbh Nash, a teacher in the school, joined by Jessie Quaid and Catriona Davis both past pupils, victorious Captain Sandra Larkin, Alva Neery and Sandra Healy.
The Ladies gave simple and practical advice during a question and answers session with our eager students.
Our up and coming female footballers in the school were delighted to be given the opportunity to meet the players and to get their hands on the coveted cup during a photo session.
Our many thanks to the panelists for their time, and again congratulations on the wonderful victory.

Field Development
Work is near completion on our field development project. Over the next couple of weeks the pitch will be lined, the goal posts erected and protective netting put in place. We look forward to playing this seasons’ games on our new pitch.
